S. Korea Vs Toga

Tuesday. Met up with Lips, Cam, Daniel, Ter, Yong, Joyc and Albert in Orchard for dinner before proceeding to watch soccer around Alley Bar pub for the S.Korea Vs Toga.

We had side bet to predict the score. At that time, it was Toga 1-0. So Lips and I predicted Toga 2-0. Albert and Joyc went for 1-1. The rest went for S.Korea 2-1.

On the whole, so far, I feel that S.Korea is better than Japan, who, miserably, lost 3-1 to Aust. On the whole Asian still cannot match neither the Europeans nor the Africans in terms of stamina. Saw most of them puffing away during the last few minutes really

With the entry of African countries in this world cup, I was quite impressed with their aggressive play and stamina. Although the lack of experience shows in their game, it might be only a matter of time before they dominate the future games.

The African teams have also helped the bookies make a killing till now. Wonder if they will continue to upset the odds... oh well... bookies always win.

In 2002, African countries performance were so forgetable that that i can only remember cameroon vs senegal in the quarter finals, if memory serves. These countries were more of a walkover then.

This time round, they were quite unpredictable.

hmm... i quite like senegal last time... think its was a penality shoot out that ended their run. really the dark horse...

too bad both cameroon and senegal din even make it to the qualifiers this time.
